Susanne Gibson is the President and Founder of GPS4Colleges: a college admissions consulting, act prep, sat prep and tutoring learning center. Susanne began her educational career as a high school math teacher for “Project Success” in 1993. She earned her Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Valdosta State University in 1995. She began her counseling career working with troubled Middle and High School students at an Alternative School. She has counseled Elementary, Middle and High School grades while working at a K-12 Magnet School specializing in Technology and Agricultural Education.
From 2005 – 2008 Susanne worked as a 9-12 grade public high school counselor. During that time, she was selected to serve a three-year term on the University of Georgia’s Admissions Advisory Board. While serving in that capacity, Susanne discovered her passion for advising parents and students in the college admissions process.
In 2008, Susanne became the Assistant to the President for Waycross College (now South Georgia State College, SGSC). Under the support of the college faculty, Susanne established the Advising Center for SGSC specializing in recruitment, retention, graduation, and transfer options. She also formed the STEM center at SGSC for retention and support of students majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. She employed a peer tutoring program to enhance graduation and retention efforts for STEM students. Additionally, she was an Instructor for Learning Support Math and the “First Year Experience” College Orientation and Success Class.
Susanne is an Associate Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC), and the National Association for School Counselors Association (NASCA).
